Why Are You Cast Down, O My Soul? (When Life is Unjust)

WHY  ARE  YOU  CAST  DOWN, O MY SOUL?

Psalm 42:1-3, 5, 8-9; 43:2a,3-4

As the deer pants for the water brooks

So pants my soul for You, ELOHIYM,

My soul thirsts for the living YAH

When shall I come and appear before You? 

My tears have been my food

Day and night, while all I hear:

Where is your GOD, ha? Where is your GOD?

So where is your GOD?

Why are you cast down, O my soul?

And why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in YAH, for I shall yet praise Him

For the help of His countenance.

Hope in YAH, for I shall yet praise Him

My Rock, my ELOHIYM!

Vindicate me, O my ELOHIYM,

And plead my cause against an ungodly nation

Oh, deliver me from deceitful and unjust man!

Yes, YAHUAH, will command

His lovingkindness in the daytime

And in the night His song shall be with me

A prayer to the EL of my life.

So why are you cast down, O my soul?

And why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in YAH, for I shall yet praise Him

For the help of His countenance.

Hope in YAH, for I shall yet praise Him

My Rock, my ELOHIYM!

Oh, send Your light and Your truth

Let them lead me and bring me to Your Holy Hill 

And to Your Sanctuary

To You, ELOHIYM, my exceeding joy!

Then I will go to Him

To the altar of YAH

And on the harp I will praise You,

O my ELOHIYM

So don’t be cast down, O my soul,

And don’t be disquieted within me —

Hope in YAH, for I shall yet praise Him

For the help of His countenance.

PSALM    42  (KJV)

1 As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O GOD.

² My soul thirsteth for GOD, for the living GOD: when shall I come and appear before GOD?

³ My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy GOD?

⁵ Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in GOD: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

⁸ Yet YAHUAH will command His lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night His Song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the GOD of my life.

⁹ I will say unto GOD my rock, Why hast Thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

² For Thou art the GOD of my strength: why dost Thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

³ O send out Thy light and Thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto Thy holy hill, and to Thy tabernacles.

⁴ Then will I go unto the altar of GOD, unto GOD my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise Thee, O GOD, my GOD.
